FAQ: FAQ

Should we take a New Orleans Bike Tour

Yes, a New Orleans bike tour is the absolute best way to experience the city because it lets you explore historic, vibrant neighborhoods like the Tremé, Faubourg Marigny, and Bywater that tour buses and walking groups simply cannot reach, the way we do. We admit we are biased, but because New Orleans is completely flat and compact, cruising on a comfortable bicycle gives you the freedom to see three times as much history, architecture, and hidden local food spots in a single afternoon without wearing out your feet in the tropical humidity. It bridges the gap between active sightseeing and effortless fun, ensuring you get an authentic, local perspective of the NOLA right from the saddle.

Why Should We Ride With You?

You should ride with A Street Tour Named Desire because we are New Orleans’ original, locally-owned bike tour company, run by real neighborhood residents who live, pedal, and eat in the exact communities we showcase. We love what we do. When we are not working, we are out biking around the city, eating, drinking, and uncovering the deep historical stories of the Bywater, Tremé, and Marigny neighborhoods we call home. We started as the first independent bike tour outfit in the city, and we will be here sharing the raw, authentic culture of Louisiana as long as there are still parades rolling down the street. Choosing us means you get an unscripted, insider look at real New Orleans culture from guides who are active anchors of the local community.

What is Your Weather Policy?

A Street Tour Named Desire offers a 100% risk-free weather policy: if your tour is cancelled due to rain, you will receive a full refund or a free rescheduling option, with zero hidden fees. New Orleans has a tropical climate where weather patterns change rapidly, meaning forecasts from the night before rarely tell the whole story. If the weather looks dicey on the day of your ride, we will monitor the radar and contact you exactly one hour before your start time. We are always willing to roll out if the streets are safe and it is not dangerous, but we leave the final decision completely up to you. You can book your bikes with absolute confidence knowing you will never be forced to ride in a storm or lose your money to a sudden downpour.
